MediFindMe (“we”, “us”) operates medifindme.com.au, a free directory that helps people in Australia find healthcare providers. This policy explains what happens to information when you use the site.
The short version
You do not need an account. We do not ask for your name, email or any health information, and we have no database of users. We do not sell or share personal information. The only third parties involved are Google services described below.
What we collect
Searches. When you search, the medical service and the location you type are sent to our server, which passes them to the Google Places API to fetch matching providers. We cache the results (provider names, addresses, phone numbers) to keep the service fast and free. We do not store a record linking a search to you.
Location. If you tap “Near me”, your browser asks your permission before sharing your approximate coordinates. Those coordinates are used only to run that one search, are rounded to roughly one kilometre, and are never stored against your identity. If you decline, the site works normally — just type a suburb instead.
Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and requested page, used for security and to keep the site running.
Cookies and advertising
We set no cookies of our own and run no analytics of our own.
We intend to display advertising through Google AdSense. Once active, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices. More detail on how Google uses data from sites that use its services is available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Third parties we rely on
Google Places API supplies the provider listings, ratings and contact details. Google Maps displays results on a map. Vercel hosts the site. Google AdSense serves advertising. Each has its own privacy policy governing data it collects.
Listing information
Provider details come from Google’s public places data. We do not verify them and they may be out of date or incorrect. If you are a provider and want a listing corrected, the change must be made in Google’s data — contact us and we will point you to the right process.
Children
The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Australian privacy law gives you rights to access and correct personal information an organisation holds about you. Because we do not hold personal information about site visitors, there is generally nothing for us to retrieve — but you are welcome to ask.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new “last updated” date.
