About MediFindMe

A free directory for finding the right healthcare practitioner, anywhere in Australia.

The problem we set out to solve

Finding the right medical specialist in Australia usually means guessing search terms into Google, or trawling booking apps that organise around appointment availability rather than around what you actually need. If you know you need a radiation oncologist rather than a medical oncologist, or a paediatric cardiologist rather than a general paediatrician, nothing helps you get there.

What we built

MediFindMe organises healthcare around the real specialty tree. You start with a broad category — general practice, dental, mental health, oncology — and drill down to the exact sub-specialty you need. Then you tell it where you are, either by tapping “Near me” or by typing any Australian suburb, city or postcode. You get real providers with tap-to-call phone numbers, websites, ratings and a map.

The specialty structure follows the categories recognised by the Medical Board of Australia and the allied health boards under AHPRA, rearranged into the language patients actually use.

Where the information comes from

Provider listings come from Google’s places data — the same source behind Google Maps. That means the details are broad and current, but not verified by us. We show what Google has; always confirm with the provider before relying on anything.

What MediFindMe is not

It is a directory, nothing more. We do not give medical advice, we do not diagnose, we do not recommend one practitioner over another, and we have no commercial relationship with any provider listed. Ratings shown are Google’s, not ours. In an emergency, call 000.

How it stays free

The site is free to use and requires no sign-up. Running costs are covered by advertising, which is clearly separated from listings — an ad will never be dressed up as a search result or as medical information.

Who is behind it

MediFindMe is an independent Australian project, built and run by Fresh by Jess in Western Australia. It began from a simple frustration: knowing roughly what kind of specialist was needed, and having no straightforward way to find one nearby.

Feedback, corrections and suggestions are genuinely welcome — see the contact page.
